Can I have anti-wrinkle injections?
Most people over the age of 18 will be suitable, but if you feel unwell, have a skin infection, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are taking certain medications, or have a neuromuscular condition, then botox probably won’t be recommended to you. If you’re unsure, don’t worry – a consultation will help work out if it’s appropriate for you.
Should I have treatment?
It’s important to weigh up any pros and cons before committing to botox, and to ensure you’re booking in with a reputable expert, such as ourselves. That’s because the treatment must be prescribed following a consultation.
What can treatment be used for?
Although it’s mainly recommended for wrinkles – eyes, forehead and brow are typical areas – botox can also be used for medical concerns, such as excessive sweating and migraines. That’s because it helps block certain signals in the body (in the case of wrinkles, it’s the nerves linked to facial expressions, which cause the wrinkles to form over time).
Do anti-wrinkle injections hurt?
No, treatment shouldn’t hurt, however everyone’s pain threshold is different. We’ll aim to make all our patients comfortable at all times, and will talk you through aftercare to keep the treated areas soothed afterwards.
How long do anti-wrinkle injections last?
You can expect treatment to last 3-6 months, depending on what you’ve had treated. Bear in mind that anti-wrinkle injections can also be used as a preventative measure – so the benefits of starting early may make results last longer. As the muscles are ‘trained’ not to be used, you may even need less of it during top-ups as time goes by, to maintain your results.
